• During the current Year of Salvation 2005, Orthodox anti-ecumenists remember three Churchmen who contributed in a decisive manner to the resurgence of Orthodox resistance and walling-off.
They are, according to the chronological order of their repose:
1. The Confessor-Hierarch Chrysostomos (Kavourides), former Metropolitan of Florina [† 1955]
2. The venerable Elder Philotheos (Zervakos) of Paros, the Missionary [† 1980]
3. The saintly Metropolitan Philaret, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad [† 1985]
• We will publish varuious texts in reverent homage to their holy memory, obeying the very timely exhortation of the Holy Apostle Paul:
“Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God, whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation” (Hebrews 13:7).
• This year, Orthodox anti-ecumenists also remember, with especial pain, three very serious steps of decisive importance which contributed to the consolidation of the heresy of Ecumenism.
• An authoritative critique of these steps was delivered at the
“Thirteenth Convocation for Orthodox Awareness” (7/20 March 2005, Sunday of Orthodoxy). The steps are as follows:
4. The mutual lifting of the Anathemas of 1054 by Constantinople and Rome (1965)
5. The synodal promulgation of the heretical “Thyateira Confession” (1975)
6. The articulation of the ecclesiological heresy of Baptismal Theology (1985)
• We will also publish various texts on the subject for the information of the pious children of the Orthodox Church, obeying once again the exhortation of the Holy Apostle Paul:
“Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines” (Hebrews 13:9).
“Concerning Bishops and leaders who are heretical and corrupt in faith,”, the Holy Fathers observe:
“Paul says, above, that we must not be carried away by their teachings: ‘With doctrines divers and strange”— [alien] to the faith, that is, and to right belief—“be not carried about.” (St. Theophylact of Bulgaria [rendered into simpler Greek by St. Nicodemos the Hagiorite],
Patrologia Graeca, Vol. CXXV, cols. 396D-397A, 392A, 393A).

Abstract
Father Philotheos condemns the meetings between Patriarch Athenagoras and Pope Paul VI and the Dialogue of Love that was initiated during the 1960s for the purpose of union. He applies to the Pope the prophecies of our Lord concerning false prophets. The Patriarch and the Pope suffer from Luciferian pride, the former because he consents to being called “His All-Holiness,” the latter because he believes himself to be infallible. We should not accept friendship and union with the Pope, since he remains unrepentant. The Pope ought to return in repentance to the One Faith, to the One Baptism, and to the dogmas and Traditions of Orthodoxy. How to conduct dialogues on the basis of the Symbol of Faith.

Abstract (Click on + to expand) (Click on - to collapse)
Abstract
Elder Philotheos brought a charge to the Holy Synod against Patriarch Athenagoras, Meliton of Chalcedon, and Iakovos of America for their anti-Orthodox actions and convictions. The Synod rejected the charge, and also those brought by others, because it was in agreement with all of the anti-Orthodox actions committed by the accused. The Synod also proceeded to introduce additional innovations. Those taking such actions are thus enemies of Orthodoxy and will be punished by God; and they also used force against those opposed to them. When the Faith is despised, silence is forbidden. The Lord will preserve His Bride, the Church: “Do not bow your knee to the Antichrist Pope and to his Pope-loving, ecumenist partisans.” “Stand” firm in the Faith “until the end, until death.” Woe to the Church for this current of innovation.
